Scout Network is the fifth and final section of the Scouting movement. Since the first days of Scouting in the UK, provision has been made for those wanting to continue in Scouting after their time in the Scout Section had come to an end, with Venture Scouts being formed in 1967 from the existing Senior and Rover Scout Sections.
In the 1990s, the Venture Scouts were again reformed, with two new units being formed: Explorers (for those 14-18), and Network, for those 18-25.
Scout Network gives opportunities to 18-25 year olds who have an interest in Scouting, their own personal development and having fun.
Dark Peak Network is the Scout Network for the districts of Tameside South and Glossop, in Greater Manchester East, and it provides participation opportunities, events, socials, and meetings, for 18-25 year olds in the area!
Network in Tameside South and Glossop
Dark Peak currently meet once per month, with flexible membership and attendance making the group suitable for those with work and university or other educational commitments.
Events range from socials, to sport, to meetings and activities, and the Programme is chosen and developed by Network members.
Dark Peak also provides a way for continuing members to carry on with awards, such as Duke of Edinburgh awards and Chief Scout’s awards.
